AN INCISIVE finance company crowned a major deal for the takeover of a city dental clinic.

North Wales-based FFP Solutions helped Aftab Ahmad realise his dream to own The Dental Practice in Fallowfield, Manchester.

The St Asaph finance brokerage came to the rescue as Aftab was struggling to secure funding during the Coronavirus pandemic, with high street banks and mainstream lenders slow to offer support.

Now Aftab has the keys to his own business and thanked directors Richard Pape, Richard Lloyd-Jones, and Gareth Jones for getting the seven-figure deal over the line.

Employing seven staff at the Wilbraham Road site, he provides all aspects of general, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Aftab said: “When the opportunity to take over the practice arose, I jumped at the chance and agreed terms with the sellers.

“Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and other issues nationally the banks were simply not interested in lending.

“Luckily a colleague knew of FFP Solutions, and they were able to support me; within a matter of days there were lenders interested and soon after the contracts were signed, and I was the proud owner of my own dental practice.”

He added: “After so much frustration they were a breath of fresh air, I can’t thank them enough and look forward to many years here in Fallowfield.”

Richard Pape congratulated Aftab on the acquisition and said the process reflected other successes they have had in the last 18 months.

“When business owners or people in Aftab’s position – who want to help boost the economy, create jobs and provide a vital service – are given a knockback by the big high street names they are often forced to rethink or even forget their investment plans,” said Richard.

“We encourage them to get in touch with us because we can identify channels and whether there is support available, not just short-term but for long-term planning, as has been the case for Aftab.

“We wish him well for the future and encourage anyone out there who is struggling to overcome barriers to financial support to get in touch.”
